London - Day 3

St. Paul's Cathedral

And yes we did climb all 528 steps to the top! Check out the YouTube page to see the view.

Prince Albert??!! How did he get out of his can?

You can't tell it in this shot because we didn't get the full monument in the pic, but this is the epitome of Victorian extravagance. This was Queen Victoria's tribute to her husband after his death, and it is over the top! Dickens would not approve.

Southwark - Borough High Street - The George
Southwark is one of the oldest areas of London, as Borough High Street was the only way into London from the south & was the old Roman road. The George is the last surviving coaching inn in London and dates back to medieval times. And it actually stood right beside The Tabard Inn where Chaucer's Canterbury pilgrims set off from.

This was an AWESOME sandwich.

Much Ado About Shakespeare

Aimee in front of Shakespeare's Globe theatre where we took in a performance of Much Ado About Nothing. See YouTube video.

Having a great time, but wishing everyone could be here with us!
